Ain. Fuels: no SP 95 at some stations, why this is not a stockout

Can't find your SP 95 fuel at your favorite gas station? Or the next one? Should you be worried? No... It's not a stock shortage. However, in Neuville-sur-Saône, Plateau d'Hauteville, Lagnieu, Saint-Vulbas, Heyrieux, Villars-les-Dombes, or even Loyettes, you won't find a drop.

"It's not a shortage at all," explains Christophe Thevenet, manager of the TotalEnergies station in Loyettes. "It's a choice. SP95 - E5 is versatile but more expensive and no longer meets our customers' demands. We therefore favor the cheaper E10, suitable for the latest generations of cars (1.752 euros/l compared to 1.879 euros/l for E5). And for sports vehicles or vehicles dating from before the 2000s, we have SP 98."

Conversely, in Saint-Trivier-de-Courtes or Saint-Bénigne, the supermarket stations do not have E10 but you will find SP95-E5 (1.699 euro/l) according to the site station-carburant.fr updated every hour using official data from the Ministry of Transport.

The E5 designation means that the gasoline contains up to 5% bioethanol, mixed with unleaded 95 or 98. E10 gasoline, or SP95-E10, is unleaded 95 enriched with 10% bioethanol.
