'We felt the whole plane shake': Two EasyJet planes collide at Manchester Airport

Dozens of passengers had to wait several hours before finally arriving at their destinations.
A rude awakening for passengers on two planes. On Friday, August 15, at around 6:30 a.m., two EasyJet planes collided wings as they were approaching the runway for takeoff. One was heading to Paris-Charles de Gaulle, while the other was preparing to fly to Gibraltar. While no injuries were reported, Manchester Airport was forced to briefly suspend flights.
An airport spokesperson told the BBC that "operations resumed after a few minutes" while the debris was cleared. "We felt the whole plane shake, it was a violent impact," said Tynisha Chaudhry, a passenger on the flight to Gibraltar. EasyJet confirmed to our British colleagues that the wingtips of the two planes made contact as they taxied towards the runway at Manchester Airport.

However, they experienced significant delays. The Gibraltar flight arrived at its destination at 2:37 p.m., instead of 10:20 a.m., while the Paris-Charles de Gaulle flight landed in France at 1:25 p.m., instead of 8:50 a.m. This incident did not cause major disruptions to the rest of Manchester Airport's flights.
