The end of the month is approaching, and so, just as workers collect their paychecks, it's also time for retirees to collect their pensions .

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security, and Migration, during the month of August, the INSS paid more than 10.3 million pensions in the April payroll, benefiting more than 9.4 million pensioners.

Last month, the average retirement pension from the General System was €1,507.5 per month, while the average pension from the system reached €1,312.9 per month. This week marks the payment of pensions for the month of September.

As indicated by Social Security in accordance with its regulations, pensions from any of the regimes that make up the Social Security system are accrued in natural monthly installments and are paid in 14 payments .

The rule dictates that the payment date will be the first business day of the month in which the payment is made (month in arrears) and always before the fourth calendar day of the month. This means that payments should be made between the 1st and 4th of each month. However, since banks already have all the information, they usually advance the payment and are most commonly made between the 22nd and 26th of each month .

Next November, pensioners will receive their bonus along with their regular paychecks. This year, thanks to the revaluation, the amount will be higher, just as they saw the increase at the beginning of the year.
