Summer Youth 2025: travel dates, discounts, requirements, and how to get tickets
The government has renewed the "Young Summer" initiative, which will allow those between 18 and 30 years old to travel at lower prices during the three summer months.
This program is in its third year of operation in 2025 and can be accessed after a simple registration process. The Government has approved a Royal Decree in the Council of Ministers, which will be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) . The program will have a budget of €120 million. Last year, 5.2 million trips were registered under this initiative.
As Transport Minister Óscar Puente announced last Saturday in a message on the social network 'X', those born between January 1, 1995, and December 31, 2007 , that is, young people between 18 and 30 years old, will be able to benefit from these discounts.
Furthermore, the Ministry includes on the list of beneficiaries not only those born in our country, but also those who are legal residents of Spain.
As for dates, travel will be possible from July 1, 2025 to September 30, 2025 .
Discounts apply to single or return tickets . The percentage depends on the type of transport chosen, although discounts can reach up to 90% . This includes buses, conventional medium-distance and narrow-gauge rail, Avant, and long-distance rail.
Although all high-speed rail operators are included, these companies must communicate whether or not they wish to join the initiative.

50% discount on Avant single titles

50% discount, with a maximum of 30 euros per ticket, for long-distance or high-speed commercial services of all rail operators

50% discount on the 10-day Interrail Global Flexible ticket within two months, when purchased through Renfe. The discount applies to official Interrail fares, which vary in price according to age, etc.
In this new edition of "Verano Joven," there are no significant changes compared to the previous campaign. These are the requirements to keep in mind.

Tickets for the 'Verano Joven 2025' program can be obtained after registering on the website set up by the Ministry of Transport . As announced by Óscar Puente, the registration website will be open this Wednesday.
As in previous years, young people must provide their ID or NIE (National Identity Document) to register . Once the system verifies that they meet the requirements, beneficiaries will receive a personal, non-transferable code by email. They will enter this code in the relevant section when purchasing tickets from participating companies, and the corresponding discount will be applied directly to the trip and transportation.
