Profeco announces Back-to-School Fairs 2025; this is what they will offer

With the goal of supporting family finances, the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) announced that it will hold 41 Back-to-School Fairs across the country.
These fairs will offer special discounts on school supplies, uniforms, and other essential student items, as well as free services such as medical certificates and haircuts.
The head of the department, Iván Escalante Ruiz, reported that one of the most notable events will be on Saturday, August 16 at Expo Reforma, Mexico City, where the participation of more than 50 suppliers and extended business hours are expected, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
According to information released by Profeco, those who attend these fairs will be able to purchase school supplies at significant discounts, with the added benefit of being able to pay with credit cards and social programs like My Scholarship to Start in Mexico City.
Attendees will find items such as backpacks, school shoes, stationery, books, school clothes, and other essential supplies for the new school year. Additionally, free services will be offered, including:
- Legal advice
- Home technology activities
- Haircuts
- Medical certificates
All of these benefits aim to reduce back-to-school expenses, especially for families with multiple school-age children. Admission to all events will be free.
