The Attorney General of the The head of the Republic, Alejandro Gertz Manero, has not been known for his swift action, and this could be a case of extreme slowness. He says that for two years he has received complaints from former Secretary of the Navy Rafael Ojeda Durán about acts of corruption in the agency he heads. If true, he took too long to act because, until now, under President Sheinbaum and Omar García Harfuch, Vice Admiral Manuel Roberto Farías Laguna, Ojeda's alleged protégé and relative, was arrested for being involved in an extensive fuel theft network. But if the complaint weren't true, Prosecutor Gertz Manero would be covering his back. In both cases, he comes off badly. The case is far from closed. Navy Captain Abraham Jeremías Pérez Ramírez, accused of receiving bribes from the #cartelmarino, was found dead.
Pension for women aged 60 to 64
In her morning press conference, Secretary of Social Welfare Ariadna Montiel reported very positive results from the new social program aimed at supporting women ages 60 to 64. From October 1st to 31st, pension cards will be distributed to 1.98 million Mexican women who registered in August. Adding to the previous numbers, nearly 3 million will receive 3,000 pesos bimonthly in November. This program was created by Claudia Sheinbaum.
The DEA claims responsibility for the strike against the Sinaloa cartel.
Days after State Department President Marco Rubio's visit to Mexico, the DEA claims a spectacular blow against the Sinaloa cartel's global operations. The agency reported that in an international operation carried out between August 25 and 29, 617 criminals were arrested and more than 10 tons of drugs were seized. The DEA, which did not provide details about the countries where the operation took place, announced that 23 national and seven foreign entities were involved. In addition to the drugs, $11 million in cash, 420 weapons, and $1.697 million in assets were seized. The Mexican government has not reported whether it participated in any way in the operation.
Trump loses lawsuit
Donald Trump may be in a bad mood these days. A federal appeals court has refused to overturn a jury verdict ordering him to pay $83.3 million for damaging the reputation of author E. Jean Carroll. The 81-year-old former Elle magazine columnist accused Trump of attacking her around 1996 in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan rejected Trump's argument that the January verdict should be overturned because he deserved presidential immunity. He first rejected the lawsuit in June 2019, telling a reporter that Carroll was "not my type" and that she fabricated the story to sell her memoir , "What Do We Need Men For?"

Subject: better than Denmark
On Saturday, September 6th, I finally had cataract surgery on my right eye at Clinic 4 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Celaya, Guanajuato, at an event in which 218 people were operated on. The organization was carried out by doctors and nurses and it took place on the same day. The organization was excellent. I can confirm that not even Denmark has that kind of team of doctors. The bad thing is that they do it every year and thousands are left without care; they have to wait until the next one. Madam President: help us make these events more frequent; there are thousands of people who need them. Ignacio Gómez Gómez @Claudiashein

President @Claudiashein : It would be great to begin the second phase of the fight against corruption. The inertia is very strong and we must stop it with the help of the people. @Marcela Malzagax
