The National Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) and the Attorney General's Office announced the summons of more than 20,000 taxpayers facing criminal charges for tax evasion in 2025.
In the city of Bogotá alone, the DIAN estimates that implementing this measure will raise approximately $50 billion Colombian pesos. This amount is calculated based on penalties imposed on those who default on payments to the Colombian government.

According to the regulations, taxpayers who fail to attend the summons could be subject to seizure of their personal account or tangible assets . This is according to Article 837 of the DIAN's Tax Statute , which establishes preventive measures and the debtor's payment order.
To carry out this measure, officials may identify the debtor's assets through tax information or through public or private entities, which will be required to respond promptly to the financial administration.
