Coca-Cola will launch a version made with cane sugar in the fall.
Trump announced it less than a week ago, and the company confirmed it this Tuesday. The Coca-Cola Company plans to launch a line of soft drinks made with American cane sugar in the United States this fall to expand its product range.
"The company plans to launch a product offering made with American cane sugar in the United States this fall to expand its Coca-Cola product line ," it announced, noting that the decision is part of "its ongoing innovation agenda."
In this regard, the multinational has emphasized that, with this addition, it seeks to complement its solid core portfolio and offer more options for all occasions and preferences.
Last week, Donald Trump announced that the brand had agreed to this idea for its products sold in the United States. "I've been talking with Coca-Cola about using real cane sugar, and they've agreed," the White House resident announced via TruthSocial.
The company then simply thanked President Trump for his "enthusiasm" for its "iconic Coca-Cola brand," while noting that it would share more details about the new offerings in the product line "soon."
The original Coca-Cola formula sold in the United States contains high fructose corn syrup among its ingredients, while in other regions such as Spain it uses sugar as a sweetener, as the multinational explained on its website.
