Club Querétaro reaches record sales figure

Curiously, the Querétaro club will celebrate its 75th anniversary under a new owner: Marc Spiegel, following the acquisition through Innovatio Capital.
The presentation was the occasion for Liga MX to reveal that an investment fund had valued the organization at $13 billion. Furthermore, the sale of Gallos was valued at $120 million.
With this, ownership passes from the Hank family to a business group. With the sale, Jorgealberto Hank will only retain ownership of the Xolos de Tijuana in Liga MX. It's worth noting that the family name also extends (in soccer) to the Dorados de Sinaloa (Liga de Expansión). Just on July 16, it was confirmed that they are part of the group of investors in O'Higgins in the Chilean First Division (Liga de Primera). Among the Chilean team's business owners are Cristian Bragarnik, Matías Ahumada Rioja, and Jorge Reina.
Querétaro has had a price tag attached since "the Hanks" took back ownership of the club in 2023, just after the fan violence in the stands on March 5, 2022.
In 2019, Grupo Caliente purchased the franchise membership certificate from businessman Olegario Vázquez Aldair, owner of Imagen Deportiva Querétaro SA de CV. During the 2020 Clausura, the franchise was already seeking to sell in a transaction worth around $35 million (approximately 700 million pesos).
The current sale price to Marc Spiegel ($120 million) reflects the exponential increase in its commercial value.
"We've been searching the world for a team to buy for two years. In Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, and some clubs here in Mexico. We couldn't be more delighted with Querétaro since the first time we came here. We saw a city that is growing with great progress, the number of projects, construction, the people have been very kind in welcoming me. We feel that Liga MX is where we want to be in the future, I have some news about it. We think it has the greatest projection in the world, not only has great projects in Mexico but in the United States. We are excited to be a part of it, we will do whatever we have to do to help soccer in this city and the country," said Marc Spiegel, in the presence of the FMF president.
Los Gallos Blancos, who will remain at Corregidora Stadium, have no Liga MX titles to their name, only winning the 2016 Copa MX Clausura and the 2016-17 Supercopa MX.
"We believe in growing the brand, in having a great local platform, in the city, the stadium, and all the fans. We have 75 years of history that we want to celebrate in the best way possible. Obviously, when you speak, there are things you should never stop committing to. Honesty, integrity, hard work, and the pursuit of excellence," said the American businessman.
