Celsia's net profit soared 264.0 percent in the first quarter of 2025.

Celsia, the energy company of Grupo Argos, reported its financial results for the first quarter of 2025.

Its ordinary income reached 1.45 trillion pesos, representing a 5.5 percent increase compared to the 1.37 trillion pesos reported in the same period last year.

The company's EBITDA showed a 44.8 percent recovery compared to the first quarter of 2024, when it was dealing with the effects of the El Niño phenomenon.

Of this EBITDA, 442.787 billion pesos came from the energy services business (generation, distribution, and marketing) and 29.236 billion pesos from the asset management business.

Meanwhile, Celsia's net income reached 108.064 billion pesos in the first quarter of 2025, representing a 264 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the company, the net profit result is driven by solid EBITDA growth, driven by increased hydropower generation and lower costs of sales. Additionally, the decrease in other net expenses and financial expenses contributed positively to the bottom line.

“We had a very good quarter, driven by the return of rain and the reduction in energy purchases to support contracts, which allowed us to recover margins after the impact of last year's El Niño. We also made progress with our EnergizarC program , repurchasing shares for more than 90 billion pesos, and taking important steps in the development of new projects such as the Carreto wind farm in the department of Atlántico,” said Esteban Piedrahita, Celsia's financial leader.

The company's consolidated net debt stood at 5.7 trillion pesos, and its net debt-to-EBITDA leverage ratio was 3.49 times.
