Laiqon: Florian Barber has passed away

The German financial industry is mourning the loss of Florian Barber. The long-time sales expert, who most recently served as Divisional Director for Sales & Marketing at Laiqon , passed away unexpectedly. He was 44.

Barber held various senior positions in asset management for many years. Before joining Laiqon, he worked for DJE and Ethenea , among others. Industry colleagues valued him as a technically skilled yet reliable contact person, who was deeply committed to innovative sales approaches and a stronger client focus.

He was only officially appointed to Laiqon's board in October 2024 – with the aim of further driving the growth of platform solutions in both the institutional and wholesale segments.

"It was with great sadness that we learned that our former colleague Florian Barber passed away earlier this week," Peter Schmitz wrote in a message to DJE employees. "Florian Barber was a valued member of our team for many years and, in his role as a sales manager, contributed significantly to the success of our company."
